Delete your account

You can delete your QuizzyApp account and the personal data attached to it at any time. Here is how, and exactly what happens.

From the app

Open QuizzyApp and sign in.
Go to Hub → Settings.
Choose Delete account and confirm.

By email

If you cannot sign in, email support@quizzyapp.net from the address on the account, with the subject "Delete my account". We may ask one or two questions to confirm the account is yours before we act — this protects you from someone else deleting your account.

Cancel any subscription first. Deleting your account does not automatically stop a recurring Paystack subscription. Open the Premium page and choose "Manage subscription" to cancel, then delete the account.

What gets deleted

Your profile: email address, username and profile photo.
Your quizzes, questions, collections and uploaded images.
Your play history, scores, XP, streaks and weak-topic data.
Your study circle memberships and the messages you posted.
Your saved and downloaded quizzes, and your referral records.

What we keep, and why

Payment records — transaction references and amounts, where we are required to keep financial and tax records. These are kept separately from your profile.
Aggregate statistics — figures such as the total number of times a quiz has been played. These contain no information that identifies you.
Content in a shared context — where a competition result or leaderboard entry forms part of another user's record, it is anonymised rather than removed, so their history stays intact.
Backups — deleted data persists in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before being overwritten.

How long it takes

Deletion from live systems happens within 7 days of your request, and within 30 days from backups. We email you when it is done.

This cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, your quizzes and progress cannot be restored, and any remaining Premium time is lost without refund. If you only want to stop paying, cancel the subscription instead — your account and everything in it stays.
